    but no snow.  The temps have dropped, but that's good.  Yesterday was 87 and that's way too warm for early May.

    We've gotten some rain.  It seems silly to say that we need it so soon after the river dipped below flood stage.  The moisture will be good for the upland areas and will wash away some of the sand and silt down by the river.  Things not only get super-saturated in a flood.  The silt left behind coats leaves and grass which makes photosynthesis difficult or impossible.*  A good washing from the sky will help.

    *A couple of years ago, we had two floods which were much higher and lasted for longer.  The whole riverfront park was just a muddy wasteland.  They graded the mud and dead sod, and brought in giant bales/rolls of sod to replace it.  That couldn't have been cheap and if we don't have to do it again this year, it will be a great savings, I'm sure.
