    I've observed ( a lot ) that the more obese they are the more hardware they have. They might be able to defend the "little woman" and refrigerator but they're barely able to make it to the driveway and their SUV. Homebound and crazy...been there but not because I'm overweight.

      The numbers, the 69ish million or even just a fraction of it that would still be overwhelming to our volunteer military, could be quite enough leverage to nullify the negatives of lots of obesity.

      To explain -
      The physical fitness of the guy on second avenue means nothing if he doesn't have to haul his obese ass hardly anywhere. If the rebels have enough people that they don't have to be able to run even 5 miles in full ruck because they would be beyond the bounds of their base point, then being too obese to do more than that is not a detriment to their capabilities.
