Rush's target audience isn't Hispanics, nor women, nor any of the other groups he disparages on the air. It's white working class men, and he gains with that group by compalining about the others.

Now, if Rush were perceived as a spokesman for all of Clear Channel's radio stations, including those that target these other demographics, then he would indeed be a liablity. But the average radio listener does not associate Rush with the local female-skewing "light rock, less talk" station, nor is even aware that Clear Channel owns it  (nor that Rush works for Clear Channel; he claims to belong to a fictional "Excellence in Broadcasting Network") . So Rush can bad mouth Mexicans all he wants, and Clear Channel still wins.

if so, that is a word whose time has come!

Politics is like driving. To go backward put it in R. To go forward put it in D.

Since advertising is generally sold in "packages" and a package includes spreading the ad throughout the day's broadcasts, at least some advertisers choosing not to advertise on Rush's show are pulling their ads from Clear Channel altogether.

      dots for the uninformed.

When listeners and advertisers learn that they are indirectly supporting Limbaugh's hate speech, they will turn away.

If you are an advertiser with a large Hispanic customer base, you will make a point of avoiding association with Limbaugh.

Clear Channel is a near monopoly, so you are right, they can put whatever they want on the air, and there is little listeners can do.

Ignorant white men can listen to Rush all they want, but if they are not driving ad revenue then there's no point in seeking their audience.

Take back the House in 2014!!!! ( 50-state strategy needed)
