    ...starting entry level Oakland cops make between, $68,000 and $98,000 per year. You get more for swing shift and even more (an additional 8.25%) for night shift (they call it dog shift).

    That's entry level. THEN you get even more pay if you have anything beyond an AA degree (i.e. BA, Masters or Post Grad degrees).

    On top of that you get a lot of overtime pay typically.

    The average entry level cop can make over $100,000 grand per year. They don't let us know what a cop makes after several years on the squad nor what they make once they move up the ladder to higher positions within the force...

    Ignorance is bliss only for the ignorant. The rest of us must suffer the consequences.

      There is a FOIA spreadsheet that I've seen (and could probably dig up the pointer to) which has the total compensation for every OPD officer.

      I am not exaggerating: the average OPD grunt makes $178,000/yr in total compensation.  The average OPD sergeant makes $225,000 or so.
