    Nigerian: someone from Nigeria.
    Nigerien: someone from Niger.

These are pronounced differently. Nigerian has a long initial I sound and accent on the first syllable: NYE - jeer - ee - an. Nigerien has an E sound initially and accept on the second syllable: nee - ZHER- ee - en.

Just remember, Nigeria was an English colony before independence, and so words relating to Nigeria sound like they would in English. But Niger was a French colony (and is still French-speaking), so words relating to it should be pronounced more like they're French.
