    Another GOP empty vessel.

How we got ourselves in this situation is a question for later. The danger is that these ignoramuses are in power and controlling government. And they aren't going anywhere.

I grew up in the deep south. I've seen what these folks are capable of believing. If the media and we the people don't get control of this mess we're all doomed. I don't believe the beltway elite have any clue of the monster they helped create. There will be a revolution. There will be blood.

The crazy must be removed from power. I think we all can agree that we face many critical choices, many critical issues, that will change our future forever. Even in the best of situations, it's not clear we can survive the challenge. With half the government in dysfunctional crises, with half the public willfully ignorant of the issues, ignoring science and evidence, we can't possibly navigate the minefields ahead.

There will be blood. Hell, there is already blood. The cake is baked.

What is so unnerving about the candidacy of Sarah Palin is the degree to which she represents—and her supporters celebrate—the joyful marriage of confidence and ignorance. SAM HARRIS
