    ...textbooks are altered so that culpable people can fade out of the public memory.  Texas is notable because with 10% of the shoolchildren, textbook companies have a stake in how elected officials want children to continue a general bias in favor of these officials' own ancestors, as well as control as much as possible to downplay any positive mention of people of color.  Cesar Chavez, for example, has been removed; so has the real impact of the Comanche dominance of much of the state for so long.  History as taught in Texas today is bland and boring.  The real stories raise too many questions.
