    If owning a physical paper is really that important in today's world, perhaps union ownership of co-op ownership could be an answer. Why don't unions pool their resources  to purchase a major paper. Or, better still, imagine the engaged residents of a big city like Chicago or Los Angles forming a co-op to buy their local paper.
