  •  I don't think it matters. (6+ / 0-)

He's got the law on his side. And really, does anyone really care what the Breitbart folks think? Just 'cause they're loud doesn't mean anyone hears them. Anyone important, that is.

And it's gone viral with cherry picked quotes about "Christian monsters of human degradation, marginalization, humiliation and tyranny " Not just on Breitbart, or even just RW sites. And it is alarming to the vast numbers of folks who have not followed the details and context of this issue.   Try to forget what you may know about some of the groups cited here, imagine you have never heard of them. Imagine the idea that an American Family Association sounds benign, and a Chaplains Alliance for Religious Liberty is a good thing:

These bandits coagulate their stenchful substances in organizations such as the American Family Association (AFA), the ultra-fundamentalist Family Research Council (FRC), and the Chaplains Alliance for Religious Liberty (CARL). The basis of their ruinous unity is the bane of human existence and progress: horrific hatred and blinding bigotry.

missing something. What do you anticipate will come of this?

At one extreme we might end up with the MRFF marginalized, and Mikey deemed a crank who is a little less crazed than Phelps of Westboro. At the other extreme, it could be that the highly visible kerfuffle will shine a spotlight on MRFF and the issue that will be beneficial.

As to my "upset" , let's ratchet that down to alarmed.  I have  a relatively small FB community, all people known (or related) to me in RL. Not a lot of politically charged discussion; but about 50/50 split in political leanings. When I saw three different versions of this posted, including from die hard libs/Dems, who were shocked and appalled, I saw a message going astray and possibly having unintended negative consequences.
