We, the opposition to corporate rule, are too polite to refuse to shake hands with these people much less ride them out of town on a rail. Half or more of the politicians representing the democratic party are in league with our opposition anyway. The republicans are no longer pretending to play by the rules. I thought it was bad when W was president but it is amazing how hopeless it now seems with president "hope and change" in office. A democratic party that allows this shit to happen is damn near worse than the republican party. It is becoming more and more clear with each passing day that both parties are two sides of the same coin used to cheat we the people in a rigged coin toss.

How many Democrats are voting for bills like this - either at the state or federal level?  And blaming Obama for Republican idiocy is downright astonishing - sounds like what the Republicans do.

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." - H. L. Mencken

not even raising hell when the opposition party moves to block democracy...and you want me to quit being critical of our party? Where the hell is the party when shit like this happens? Obama's not to blame for austerity or his "grand bargain" being the main focus of economic policy? Why the hell did he use the "bully pulpit" to declare that SS needs to be cut? Who is to blame for that nonsense? When no one in congress can be bothered to show up for committee meetings on joblessness then we need to raise hell and so does our party- only our party's members in congress where the ones not bothering to show up to the meeting! You can continue to cheer lead this farce and fraud that is our representative government while good people continue to get ground down by this economy and nothing is done. You can be astonished about me pointing out that democrats aren't really fighting back but that doesn't change the fact that democrats at the state level are damn near impotent or incompetent.

...I'd like to see something like this generate a brawl of the likes you get in various foreign parlimentary bodies.  Then at least I'd know some of the legislators actually gave a shit.

If someone tried to take away my vote I would be pissed and would raise hell until it was noticed. These folks are politicians and their vote is what their job entails and yet the democrats of NC did what when their vote was taken away? Nothing as far as I can tell. My grandmother fought harder for Oklahoma democrats as a citizen than these folks seem capable of doing as a party of politicians inside the government! Give me a break. I'm seeing enough of this half-hearted, Kabuki type theatrics to realize that many democrats are tools of monied interests. Not the way to get democrats elected.
