  •  Not dead yet (0+ / 0-)

    But definitely evolving.

As older cars with only radios get replaced by models that can stream music, have satellite radio, and USB ports for iPods/phones, radio will move back to what it originally was - a voice for local news and personalities.

Because if you want music, you have all you could ask for in other media, at your fingertips. If you want national news/commentary, satellite will fill that niche. And if you want something more specialized, podcasts cover almost every topic.

But syndicated radio will fade away, that niche filled by other audio streams.

    •  Exactly. I have Music Unlimited (Sony's version (0+ / 0-)

of Rhapsody) and while it normally costs $10 a month thanks to having PSN Plus (like Xbox Live Gold but for the PS3, and a much better value) I got a years worth for $12.  So I just create a bunch of playlists with whatever I want in them and set them as available for offline listening so they download off of my home wifi connection and I get all the music I can handle (up to 5,000 songs at once, probably more due to software limitations than anything) with no commercials, no data plan usage, and all 100% legal (and if it isn't, then Sony will be the one getting sued and not me).

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
