May well be the stone round the neck of the #GOP in the 2014 election cycle.

The Republicans can only stir the shitpot when there are no voices drowning them out with facts instead of supposition.

When more and more people in the States which are going with the expansion of Medicaid start to get their own stories out, of how the cost to them for care is now reduced due to the PPACA?

The citizens of those States which did not participate? Watch how, as 2014 rolls out, the primary season (which lasts until mid-summer) plays out. There's where we'll get an idea if the anger of voters over being done out of the chance to get affordable healthcare insurance by their miscreant Republican State and Federal legislator will translate into Ballot Disaster for them, too.

    I think it just might.

Nah, you're greatly overestimating the intelligence of the average GOP voter. The will be riding the "socialized medicine is tyranny" crazy train for as long they can, facts be damned.

      •  It isn't the average GOP voter we have to convince (2+ / 0-)

except in unusual circumstances, such as Colbert-Busch vs. Sanford in South Carolina. In those unusual circumstances, we can count on Republicans to make the argument for our candidates.

It is the Independent we must convince of our positions, and especially the Democratic and Progressive non-voter we must convince to vote for positions they already agree with. Republicans have gone to a lot of trouble to convince Progressives that their votes don't matter, and Democrats have failed to take enough trouble to convince them otherwise, so that we lose several percent of the electorate that we could reach with GOTV.

Last November, Blacks voted in a higher percentage than Whites for the first time. Imagine getting even more Blacks to vote, plus lots more Latinos and young people, even as Republicans go out of their way in the War on Everybody to injure and insult Blacks and other minorities, women, young people, old people, legal immigrants, the poor, the middle class, and more.
