    Back in 1980 I was honored to cast a vote, as instructed by the village elders, for my village in Alaska primary for Mike Gravel for US Senate. Unfortunately, he lost, because now, if he were still in the US Senate, we could look forward to Moon Bases and Extraterrestrial Searches! Exciting! Expensive, but exciting. Fruitless, but exciting. Insane, but exciting.

    But seriously, Mike was a staunch defender of Native Rights, environmental protection and anti-war people, and I am sorry he has seen fit to put his energy into the politics of Art Bell of Pahrump, Nevada. If you read this, Mike, we still love ya, and wish you would come back down to earth for a bit!
