    Perhaps there aren't any more than there were, let's say, fifty years ago but it sure seems like it.

      ....these crimes were just swept under the rug.  Cemia's murder wouldn't have even warranted a story in the Plain Dealer.  At least it got reported today, albeit in a condescending, disrespectful fashion.  That's progress...I guess.

      The problem is that this kind of violence might be genetically hard-wired into some people, authoritarian types particularly.  Perhaps there's a conformity gene that predisposes them to attack and murder individuals who deviate too far from the norms of the herd.

      All the rest of us can do is to keep supporting the potential victims and keep demanding justice for the actual ones.  It might also help if we did everything possible to keep conservatives from breeding and reproducing.

      Spay or neuter a teabagger today!  If it's good enough for our beloved pooties, it's good enough for these jackals and hyenas.  Way too many of them running around loose.
