"If you want different popular diaries - make different, and good diaries" - and all you can do is be negative.

See how that works? This diary wasn't simply a "call to action," it was a kick in the head of every front page diarist, and the rec list diarists. It was a gentle kick, I'll note that, but these kind of diaries - and the diarist links to two others doing the exact same thing! - seem very self-referential to me. Sue me.

    The diarist ends with this:

How do we move beyond the negativity of bashing stupid behavior, and on to meaningful action and change? How do we change the culture of the bribery of politicians and endemic corruption? Real action to overturn Citizens United vs. FEC would be one example.
For starters, highlighting bad Republican behaviour is a good thing. It's necessary, for a variety of reasons, most of which have been pointed out in comments here and in the other diaries.

Second, if the diarst thinks we need "Real action to overturn Citizens United vs. FEC" - might I suggest a real asskicking diary on that?

And obviously I can see my own culpability in this. Not trying to get down on you. You're here, so we obviously have a fair amount in common. I get just as frustrated as the diarist. Thank you for the things you've done. Let me know if there's an issue you feel like I could help you on.
