because we don't have a progressive majority in the Senate Democrats.
Did that ever occur to you?

    •  Harry Reid himself isn't a progressive (2+ / 0-)

If Elizabeth Warren were Senate Majority Leader, she'd have the guts to push progressive legislation, even if most of it failed to pass. Harry Reid spends most of his time watching boxing matches in person.

Obviously, Democrats are in the minority in the House, but Nancy Pelosi is not a progressive (she support's Obama's War on Social Security) but is easy for Republicans to vilify as someone who comes across as a hard-line liberal. Someone like Keith Ellison or Mark Pocan would be far better than Pelosi, because they stand on principle.

Democrats can compromise on details, but they can't compromise on core principles.

I listen to Lori Compas, not Pete Peterson!

And there's no point in wasting what precious time the Senate has on arguing over bills that aren't going to pass anyway.
If we want a orogressive House Majority Leader, we need to win back the House first.
