The original pile-on of HRs was bullying, and the sniping now is a continuation. It is exceedingly sad to see so much attack to try to justify actions that are better taken with a mea culpa, on several sides.

Few people want to see their actions as bullying, myself included, but we are all capable of it. What are we when we relish the brutal fallout of a clash of cliques? Do we need to turn into rightwing ideologues, incapable of acknowledging a mistake?

I am much too liberal to be a Democrat.

Strong words. You are aware that HRs are not physical objects, that this is just a blog on the internet, that no animals (including humans) were harmed in the hiding of that comment? There is much brutality in the world today. Here, not so much.

Does your authoritarian jones need this much reassurance?

        Fuuuuuck, but you're tedious!

things. I for one appreciate the opportunity to get to know my fellow Kossacks a little better. There ARE cliques on Daily Kos. Of course there are, they're everywhere, in the workplace, the school, the church, the Party.

As for bullying, that is appalling. Part of what is informative to me about the "guttersniping" is to learn who is intolerant of others. Webranding's personal background is well-known to those of us who follow his writing and comments. He comes from a privileged background, and yet struggles to understand people very different from himself. I have seen him work hard with this--it's one of the reasons we know so much about him: his struggle with his background is part of his struggle as a Democrat. To be honest, I can really relate to him on a lot of levels. Yet some people don't see this. I, for one, am grateful to see who they are. It doesn't make me dislike them, but it does tell me who I'd trust with a secret or not. I would trust Tommy with a secret. Others who have picked their bones with him when he couldn't defend himself? Not so much.

I guess I"m not as outraged about meta wars as some others. But I do get where you're coming from.

it is a tedious, boring environment that is rarely interesting to participate in.  it's been dysfunctional and sick for a long time now... and worse all the time.  changes need to be made, but before that can happen, people have to come to see that there's a problem.  to date, most of the culprits seem to break their arms patting their own backs about how justified they are, and watch out if you don't agree.

this is just a preposterous example of it.  i heard it wasn't the "usual suspects" which did it - pointed out by ... the usual suspects.  that is, if i am correctly remembering... which more and more, i don't.
