Your San Diego County is pretty good, but I'd prefer that California State Route 52 be the north/south dividing line between the Central San Diego seat and the other Congressional districts (with La Jolla going with Del Mar, Encinitas, etc.). I aso really disliked your Coronado move.

This is the San Diego County that I'd have pushed for if I were a commissioner:

Population constraints meant that SD County was due 4.3 districts.

My map creates four San Diego County-centric districts, including...

    1. a South Bay-based, 60% Hispanic, urban seat for Juan Vargas.
    2. a Central San Diego seat for Susan Davis that goes all the way up to Route 52 (except for La Jolla), which I think is roughly the proper dividing line between Central San Diego (meaning the city and its inner ring suburbs like Claremont) and North County San Diego. I figured urbanizing and Hispanifying areas like Lemon Grove, La Mesa, and La Presa were better fits for central San Diego than La Jolla and Univeresity City were (although, from a Republican partisan perspective, giving University City and La Jolla to Davis' seat, moving the Coastal seat into Rancho Penasquitos, San Marcos, or Mira Mesa, and giving the Hispanic parts of East County to the East/Inland North County seat would be great for Republicans).
    3. a Coastal North County seat for Darrell Issa that had to go a bit inland to pick up Vista for population reasons.
    4. an East County and Inland North County seat for Duncan Hunter that makes up almost all of East County in addition to much of northern San Diego. This seat is very much like like Arizona in many places. It's a golfer's paradise, is full of retirees, and has many beautiful desert areas.Escondido, San Marcos, and Fallbrook were added to Riverside County for population reasons. I figured that giving Escondido, which is a small city in its own right, to Riverside County was less of an issue than adding Southern Orange County to Coastal San Diego County considering how much of a cultural and geographical divide Camp Pendleton is between Orange County and San Diego County.

Has been trying to turn itself into South Orange County for four decades.
