    I'll work like a dog for you. (Although, offhand, I can't recall any hard-working dogs I've ever met.) Before I settled into the publishing world I did a number of jobs: cook in an organic restaurant; building houses; etc. I just stayed with Typesetting because it paid so well for so long.

      that "not unethical or criminal" severely limits your potential job pool. :-(

      My herding dog wants to be organizing things all the time.  Since we live in a city (no New York--but no access to cattle or sheep either), that means a couple of hours of herding her ball and supervising other dogs in the park she's trained to work with her.

      Although she's perfectly snuggly when the edge is off and she's at home, I can see how content she would have been to spend each and every day rounding up stray cattle from dawn to dusk.  (As long as she got to share the bed with her humans at night too.)

      Maybe it doesn't count as "work" when you're so driven to do it....
