Wayne LaPierre is an unhinged idiot.
    But very cunning.
Appealing to the un-informed, willfully ignorant and sadly frightened about a very scary subject he (LaPierre) earnestly lied about.
The residents of Boston, Watertown specifically, were asked to stay indoors for their own safety.  No one was ordered to stay inside, no one was imprisoned in their homes. There were dangerous and armed people (who had set off bombs in a very crowded area) still at large, and the police wanted no more bloodshed. The residents allowed the police and FBI do what they do, without having some sort of modern day gunfight at the Arsenal Mall occur with armed civilians, police, FBI and the murderers shooting at everything and everybody.  The very last thing anyone needed was impromptu vigilante posses looking for these murderers.
The officer at MIT had a weapon, he was killed, and this was a trained professional.  There was a firefight on the street with the killers having many too many rounds. It resulted in one of the killers being killed himself and the other wounded.
From friends who were there, and from friends who knew other people who lived in the vicinity, there was a sense of a community who knew they were being protected.  The reaction of the neighborhoods that Friday night after the second brother was taken into custody, was not the reaction of people who had been ordered to do something they didn't want to do, nor was it the reaction of imprisoned-against-their-will citizens.
    Wayne LaPierre should just STFU.

I think, therefore I am........................... Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose....AKA Engine Nighthawk - don't even ask!
