  •  Glad you asked, (8+ / 0-)

because I got it wrong! It's a local online newspaper poll in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas, also home to the KKK and a number of white supremacist compounds. Some come and go, others last for decades. In my mind, that makes it even more remarkable ;)

Readers were asked: “How should authorities treat Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev?” There were 185 responses:

    » 120 said “He’s a naturalized American, treat him as a criminal”

» 65 said “He’s a terrorist, treat him as an enemy combatant”

    •  Hah! That's a good one. Still, it's a crappy poll (3+ / 0-)

and I'm not talking about methodology.   It mixes two issues:  (1) Is he a terrorist or an ordinary criminal? and (2) Should he be tried in a domestic court rather than as an enemy combatant?

Here is the way they asked the questions:

“How should authorities treat Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev?”

I don't see my response in among their options. For me, yes, he is a terrorist.  Yes, he should be tried in the US civilian legal system.  I imagine many, many people, including, say Barack Obama, see it that way.
