I do research online, but if they have the item at a reasonable cost in a local store, I'll often go and buy it there, rather than order it.

I want to see it, yes, but I want it now, not in a week from now, and I want to know that it works, that it hasn't been damaged in shipping, and if I have a problem I can take it back and talk to a person.

I don't have a problem paying a little more for that, if I have to.

You can make the purchase online but then pick it up in the store.  Saves time of looking through the aisles but save you money shipping and you get it quicker.

As much as I can. It's easier for me if I can pick it up, especially larger items. Half the time they'll deliver and nobody is home, which means they have to come back, and somebody has to take a day off, and its a pain.

Ship to the store, and I get whatever sale price was in effect, shipping is usually free, and I pick it up when it's convenient for me.

        Good deal all around.

            Hassle all the way around.

So big items, for the most part, get bought in a store or online and shipped to a store.

Computers I tend to buy online, but only because I'm picky and don't like the selection in our local stores.
