Mr. Issa wants to be seen as the one true power in Washington.

And every time the media seems to be reporting less about him and more about someone else -- Mr. Cruz, Mr. McCain, Mr. Graham, Mr. Ryan, Mr. Rubio, etc. -- Mr. Issa feels forgotten, so he has to amp up the crazy to bring the focus back to him.

It's not enough for him to see that "the Republicans" are winning whatever it is they think they are winning, or trying to win; it is more about Mr. Issa being the one true power who brought down the president, the former secretary of state or whomever.

But of course in Washington there are so many individuals with enormous egos, and each feels forgotten when the focus shifts elsewhere, so to be ahead in the competition, each has to out-shout and/or out-reach the others, saying and doing ever-more outrageous things.  Each wants to be the ultimate power, the one that will go down in the history book as the person to whom everyone else had to answer.

    •  So, it's all about "who can bring down (0+ / 0-)

      the president," yadda, yadda, yadda.

That most people sneer at him, only fuels Issa's personal ambition to "prove us all fools." Great.

Goes to show, riches don't confer smarts. Or character.

It's here they got the range/ and the machinery for change/ and it's here they got the spiritual thirst. --Leonard Cohen
