  •  almost ready for "Mother's Day", 8-) which we (8+ / 0-)

mostly don't do at all. it's so commercial. but we do like excuses for good food, so we were planning to have roast duck for dinner, but it's been HOT, and MUGGY, and it's supposed to rain & cool down tomorrow, but... weather forecasts are not much trusted.

so we decided to make our own brunch instead. restaurant brunches around here are few and far between and pretty $$$$ AND have probably all been reservationed-up for months, for tomorrow anyway.

so, we already had bacon and sausage. decided to make biscuits and fruit and that's pretty luxurious for breakfast around here, 8-). I just got an experimental sourdough batch of bread out of the oven, and I MAY try raspberry scones tomorrow... maybe. We went up to the (packed, hectic!) grocery & got green grapes & blueberries, an apple & a pear, and one of those mini watermelons-- hope it's ripe! if this doesn't sound very fancy, well, it IS for us, me and my picky-eaters.

hope you're all gonna' have a good time tomorrow. AND that we really do get the alleged rain!

    •  Ooh. Drooling =) (7+ / 0-)

      That sounded wonderful!

Tomorrow we are going to brunch, and then I will plant the vegetable garden. What I would really, really like is to stay in bed all day and READ, and have tea brought to me on trays. Alas, that will never happen.

Happy Sunday, and happy Mother's Day to all that plan to celebrate. Bad Mommy is still in Switzerland. I didn't find any sufficiently rude cards and I am too old to make one, so I, better make her a necklace tout suite. (I design and make jewelry.)
