    abstinence only programs. Seriously, I believe such programs are intentionally designed to encourage results like this. I just wanted to say that and get honest reactions to my opinion - I'm open.

    I spent ten minutes trying to think of a worth-while signature line, but failed. Sorry.

      The purpose of abstinence only is to make the act of sex so shameful that young people dont want to engage in it. Except they still do, it just fucks with their heads more and they dont know how to be safe about it so they end up pregnant with or gonorrhea.

        There's nothing wrong with telling kids it's better to wait till they're mentally and emotionally ready for a sexual relationship...but that should be in the context of "if you can't wait, here's what to do and here's what could happen if you don't".

        Abstinence only education is like handing a kid a loaded gun and telling him not to use it rather than giving proper teaching in care and use -- but as we've seen in recent news reports, that's been happening way too frequently too.
