    Why would they label it half-true.

     "In 29 states in this country you can still get fired for not just being gay, but if your employer thinks you are gay."

    That statement is 100% true. Just because there are some cities or employers who will respect your rights, it's still 100% true that within 29 states you can get fired for that and aren't protected by any state laws against such discrimination.

    There's really no way around calling that true.

    The other things they mentioned would have been relevant just as background/context, but to call it half-true...very strange.

    I find these "Fact check" political sites useful only because they serve as a reference for statements under question. I don't think they're authorities on determining factiness, but it does provide a sort of database of stuff people have said that is under dispute -- and that's worth something.

    Deficits don't matter, jobs do.
