    And check out what CPU it has against the charts on Tom's Hardware for speed ratings. Doesn't matter what brand it is, really. Louder whine on the cooling fans/disk drive usually means it has been running for a longer time.

    Pretty simple, really. Any software you need can be gotten for free mostly with open-sourced versions.

      Just to let you know that my BSOD made its presence known on my Dell Inspirion Desktop just two weeks ago.

      After some research, I opened it up and pulled one of the two ram chips out and it got back to the main windows screen. But it was perfoming very slowly.

      The fact that it worked after taking out the Ram chip confirmed for me that it was in fact a memory issue.

      I purchased and installed two new ram cards on Amazon for $25 and it's back to running fine.
