  •  It's shared sacrifice. (8+ / 0-)

The Unemployed share the sacrifice with kids getting kicked out of Head Start, needy families unable to get subsidized housing, Cancer patients not getting chemotherapy at their local clinics, seniors not getting their meals from "Meals on Wheels, and so on.
Many, many poor people and nearly poor are sharing the sacrifice with one another.

    •  The phrase "shared sacrifice" has long annoyed me. (8+ / 0-)

The sound of it, and the tone used when talking about it, are like "Screw you."

In fact, if you substitute "screw you" for "shared sacrifice" you'd find the main proponent of 'sharing' speaking a lot more accurately about what is happening to people under that concept.

We're well into the fifth year of banks and Wall Street doing the opposite of sacrificing, sharing or shared sacrifice.

How about this?  Banks and Wall Street can go first.  We'll let them know when they've shared and sacrificed enough.

Hint: it will take a long long time.
