    people who are outraged by the idea of adding 5 cents to a price to provide the employees they can actually see with basic medical insurance, I don't see them giving a hoot about the health & safety of people who aren't even on this continent. That doesn't mean the price won't go up, though, just that nobody who works for them below a certain level will see a penny of it. Most people pay what things cost & adjust their spending accordingly. The fear of adding to the cost has little to do with the customer and much to do with profits. If there's another nickle to be had, they want it to go to profits.

    I have been avoiding Walmart for years. for both moral & aesthetic reasons & now, as I informed them, I will be avoiding The Children's Place (which got a lot of my clothing spending due to grandchildren & shoals of nieces/nephews) for their non-response to this. All well & good, I suppose but not nearly enough to make any real change, I'm sad to say.

    Where are we going and what am I doing in this handbasket?
