  •  I am interested in your critique (0+ / 0-)

Did you find the love-is-all-you-need childrearing premise overly heavy-handed?  Or did the voice of the child protogonist chime at times?

I had a few off-putting moments along those line, but then the book stayed with me for a long time afterwards, and has recurred to my mind many times.

I actually gave away my copy and now wish I hadn't, but my spouse was so averse to the idea of reading it that she had basically asked me to get it out of the house.

    •  Oh, it seemed like a book of the month club book. (2+ / 0-)

A bad book of the month club. I didn't think it was particulary well written and it seemed like it was trying to cash in on sensationalism.

The love is all you need part seemed absurd as well as, what was she preparing her son for?

And actually Colbert covers bookclubs and crazy neighbors here - in the first 3 minutes.

Tracy B Ann - technically that is my signature.
