When Jaycee Dugard was found, my husband was wondering how that could have happened, until I pointed out a guy who lived on the next block from us who had a trailer, a tent and tarps up all in his wooded backyard.  He could have had anyone living there for years and we wouldn't have known.

The guy has a gutter business and I think he lets his non-documented workers live there, at least that's my guess from who I've seen hanging around.  But really it could happen, especially in rural areas.

The shocker to me here was the urban environment.
