    ...until we better understood what they were doing. We thought they were just using the same tunnels each year. Well they were. What we didn't know is that they tunnel deeper and deeper each year. The good thing is they were NOT tunneling in any wood that was structural...just the boards facing outward from the eaves and windows.

    Last year we realized we had to put an end to it all. After 23 years, we had hundreds of Carpenter Bees each year...

    Ignorance is bliss only for the ignorant. The rest of us must suffer the consequences.

      I bought this house 5 years ago, and I think the previous owners were bug phobic. I'm not, though---well, except for brown recluses and mosquitoes and black widows and a few others---and I've always adored my bees, even my carpenter bees (who really are much too alert for their own good).

      So I leave them, um, bee. hehe.
