We have Maxine Waters, Pete Visclosky, Rob Andrews, Greg Meeks, had Jesse Jackson Jr until recently.

When it comes to ethics, I think our parties are pretty even.
They've got Buchanan, had Rivera, have Gary Miller, Ken Calvert, Darrell Issa...plus Vitter although on our side Menendez is shady.

    It's basically a wash.

morality not ethics. similar, but not quite the same.

as far as ethics goes though, you're missing a big one, Mike Grimm (and I assume you're only restricting this to House members). interesting the CREW list of Most Corrupt Members of 2012 contains twice as many Republicans as Democrats. hmm.

      •  In previous years this wasn't the case (0+ / 0-)

The 2010 wave brought in a lot of sketchy Republicans: Rivera, Grimm, and Guinta being the first ones I can think of.

And look at the state level, I think we're more corrupt.  Blagojevich, NYC, Massachusetts...much of that is merely because we're the urban party though, which leads to corrupt urban machines.

        •  those states have corrupt Republicans too (0+ / 0-)

for instance Joe Bruno in NY and George Ryan in IL. also "Prince of Providence" Buddy Cianci was a Republican-turned-Independent. I think that's more the political culture of those states than a party issue. and besides there's also red state Louisiana.

corrupt state senators in NY actually caucused with the republicans, or repeatedly threatened to.
