    Republicans being lying hypocrites as I do with their sanctimonious attitude--even after they've been caught red-handed.

    A lot of "public people," not limited to politicians, act as if the normal requirements don't apply to them. Still, for flat out dishonesty it's hard to top the pronouncements of publicly pious posers.

    I doubt that many of us around these parts expect much better from the once Grand Old Party.

      While there are some politicians who are down-to-earth, wonderful people, politics in general is a magnet for egotists and narcissists. Based on my very limited first-hand acquaintance with politicos there are a few that, given the choice between them and a Republican, I would still vote for them but I’m not doing so under the illusion that they are nice people.

      I’m sure that someone like Sanford thinks that his contributions to politics are so invaluable that it well outweighs the public blowup of his personal life.
