    •  It really puts a different spin on the students (9+ / 0-)

and their studies.  When I was in high school in a small rural town, I wanted to think of myself as a scholar, but most of my teachers didn't.  So I thought I was being silly.  A new teacher came my senior year, and really pushed us to expand our horizons.  Unfortunately, he made some remarks about the Vietnam war and was gone before the year ended.  But he was the only one who seemed to value learning for learning's sake.

I think I would have loved having you for a teacher.
