    and his damned pardon... Makes him every bit as bad as Nixon, perhaps out of incompetence or passive corruption rather than malice.

    When the JFK Library Foundation gave the Profile in Courage Award to Ford, the award lost most of its cred for me.

    By the way, while Profiles in Courage is an excellent book, it has a major flaw: every case JFK wrote about was of a Senator making a move favoring the opposing party in order to stick to principle. That's all well and good, but never once in there was an instance of a Senator bucking his own party to uphold a principle that party is supposed to stand for.

    Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.
