for John Boehner or Nancy Pelosi. The individual candidates had an impact, but it was overwhelmed by the heavy GOP majority in the district.

In a swing district I think the candidates make a huge difference.

for adultery and public malfeasance (Sanford). A vote for Pelosi meant a vote for women (ECB). I still think those Republican voters felt and feel massive cognitive dissonance.

meant a vote for abortion rights, same sex marriage and other issues they don't support. I do think many had to hold their nose, but they did.

should have said that a vote for Pelosi is a vote for same sex marriage and reproductive rights. Dislike of the latter clearly outweighs any allegiance many Republican voters may have to the nominal Family Values (else they could not have voted Sanford).

Very interesting times and an interesting race. I am enjoying the post mortems here on DKos tremendously.
