I knew that comment would come back to bite me! She's great and I would vote for her on top of the ticket, but I think she's too green to be considered at the top of the ticket AND to win the election. Besides, Joe isn't going anywhere. To put pressure on Joe to step down begins to create a mountain of controversy and unease which could ultimately doom any chances for Hillary to win the election.

It's the job usually offered by conservative Dems to any Dem woman considering a WH run.  Why not offer it to someone like Biden?

...ways to get Joe off the ticket. Granted, he would do well on SCOTUS, but people would see it as a manipulation just to get Hillary in the WH. We've got too many redstaters who are just looking to make hay out of the hoops that some Dems are willing to go through to make Hillary prez. In the end, the American people have to decide and I think a string of manchinations just to make it happen will fatigue the voters and keep people home on election day.

          it's good enough for Biden.

"Appoint her to SCOTUS" has become the default response from conservative Dems to any Dem woman's name mentioned as a possible candidate to head the Dem ticket.  ConservaDems will have to face reality - there are a lot of highly qualified Dem women who can head up the next ticket and voters are ready to for this change.

Dems have to stop defaulting to men for the top of the presidential ticket.  New day and all that.  I'm not going to accuse our party leaders of sexism, but the reaction is knee-jerk.  If it were happening to male minority candidates, the charges of racism would be flying.  Sexism is just as bad.

He'll be tainted by the Obama administration. Unelectable. Now how about Elizabeth and Bernie. And if some think Elizabeth is too 'green' then Bernie and Elizabeth. As for Hillary? I can think of 20 or 30 Dems off the top of my head I'd rather have than her. "Oh but she's the only one that is electable!"

      •  Joe, Hilary, & Liz are all too old for a SCOTUS (0+ / 0-)

Appt.  The R.'s have control of SCOTUS because they appted. relatively young justices.  Appointing someone in his or her late '60's is self- defeating.  We can't all be William O. Douglas or John Paul Stephens.
