    I would contend that it is very low, at least directly.  Indirectly we are very involved/concerned.

    The possibility of this conflict spreading through out the middle east is certainly a threat, and due to our entanglement with Israel anything that involves Israel involves the USA.  Even the Israeli raids on weapon shipments bound for Hezzbollah have an effect on us, like or or not.  We can try to be as diplomatic as possible, but when Israel gets involved our backs are against a wall in that part of the world.  Fortunately there seems to be little furor over these last few events, but they should serve notice that we are not exactly in the crowd - we are very much on the sidelines there.

    I do agree that the war-like footing for our national policy has become shrill, however.  Perhaps it's because I grew up right after Vietnam that I recall a time when the general population was not so eager for military action.  Or maybe I was just a naive young kid.
