Dallasdoc gets to the heart of the matter.

That deeply misinformed electorate is the thing that I've chosen to focus on, along with supporting the activism of others, since I am not in a position to be able to do a lot of the "on the ground" work myself nor do I have the resources to throw at any other significant project, other than the new community news site.

When enough people really stand up for or against things, things happen.  One thing that we have going for us is that the powers that be rely on the lies, on convincing people that they are the good guys and that this country is the good guy.  They are not Stalin, which would be a much more difficult situation.  So that's why aiming for a more informed electorate is a worthwhile effort. It's always a worthwhile effort but I think we have a unique window of opportunity right now. Corporate media is failing and less and less people are watching it.  There is a void to fill.  The govt has not been able to rein in the internet yet.  I think there's opportunity here.

When more people figure out what's going on there will be hell to pay.  FDR realized this and he steered the train in a different direction.  I don't see any sign of the current powers that be doing that yet and there is no organized political organization to challenge them.  I wonder if, this time around, it will not be an organized party that makes the difference and while they have their lookouts watching all the established roads and alleys, they are forgetting to keep watch on the sidewalks and trails.
