    I can't give you numbers, but it would be interesting to see how a meaningful increase in the minimum wage would impact Food Stamp expenditures.

    As it works now, the subsidies actually go to the employers who can legally pay poverty-level or below wages to workers while attaining higher profit margins.

    Of course our enlightened congress fawns all over those low-wage employers claiming they need more tax cuts and proposes cuts to programs that keep their low-wage employees from starving.

    It's unconscionable.
