The school has no obligation to make their experience more pleasant as they break the law.  I'm struggling to find my outrage button here - these kids are breaking the law because they're dissatisfied that the education that they've gotten for free up until now will no longer be free.

    •  What a joke, what a horrible, horrible joke. (16+ / 0-)

You really could care less about economic issues couldn't you? I mean, fuck the young people who are fighting for an education to be available to working class youth. They're just whining. Because you worked hard and did it all on your own. When did you graduate? If it was more than 15 years ago then you have no idea what the current education situation is.

The school was founded and continued with the explicit goal of being free. This is a betrayal of the primary goal of the school and you can just dismiss it as being a bunch of whining kids. Generational warfare much?

said the education was for 'working class youth'.
Many of my husband's classmates were, and continue to be, filthy rich.

Please explain how these 'rich' administrators' are supposed to reverse billion dollar stock market losses and what else they can do after having sold off their valuable real estate.

        •  Billions? Wow, the school must have expanded (7+ / 0-)

considerable if it's suddenly in the billions. And of course, the will didn't say that. You gloss over the issues. But fuck the youth, because they are the ones who are self centered. Not like the previous graduates who got their education for free.

Because selling real estate during a giant down turn was a great fucking plan. How can they even pretend like they're competent?

But there is a long tradition of student protests of this sort.  The administration should suck it up, agree to a meeting to discuss the issues, and then the DFHs go home.

    •  it's called a sit-in (0+ / 0-)

perhaps you've heard of the tactic before.

I'm struggling to find my outrage button here
No shit? What a surprise. Water's still wet, right?

Seems to me that you spend a lot of time on DK not hitting your "outrage button." And then sniping at the uncivil rabble who have the nerve to do something as uncouth as stage a sit-in. Tut, tut.

Thanks to the internet, bullshit now travels at the speed of light.
