    Originally they were responsible for making up any shortfall in operating expenses. It wasn't liability like we would think of it, it was part of being a trustee.

    Obviously over the years the school has neglected this plan.
    I suppose this was a bit blase in it's formulation. The school likely changed over the years because that model was moved away from by the general educational establishment. I'm not surprised that happened. It's part of the ongoing movement away from accountability for the rich. I wouldn't imagine they could find trustees that would fill that role.

    If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.
