  •  "cessation of observed global warming for the past (6+ / 0-)

decades.....WHAT? that is factually wrong by any measure

    •  "decade or so" was their wording (3+ / 0-)

The funny thing is that it was kinda almost sorta true when the statement was first made a few years ago -- yes, measured global temperatures did level off for a very short while. (This, by the way, did not in and of itself come anywhere close to invalidating the science behind global warming -- not that the deniers would realize or acknowledge this.)

But in any case, global temps have been rising again for at least a couple of years now, and the deniers are still repeating the same stale old canard as if it were still fresh news.

Let us all have the strength to see the humanity in our enemies, and the courage to let them see the humanity in ourselves.

worldwide.  A spike.  A ridiculous spike.  So they compare our moving average to that single summer, and they are correct.

These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert to fleece the people, and now that they have got into a quarrel with themselves, we are called upon to appropriate the people's money to settle the quarrel. Abraham Lincoln

much (~90%) of the warming is being done to the oceans, and not to just the upper 700m of it.  No surprise denialists are jumping on slower growth in warming of the atmosphere as the only thing that matters.  Then there's that little "escalator" trick they do, here.

Here's a good summary of the recent results, complete with all the relevant references.

(-7.62,-7.33) Carbon footprint 12.6 metric tons. l'Enfer, c'est les autres.
