    I'm not going to repeat the lie that Obama was "silent" on climate change. But, he didn't emphasize it as much as he did in '08.

    Part of it was due to his mixed record after not getting an energy bill through Congress. Part of it was the campaign's decision to appeal to coal country voters in southern Ohio and Virginia. The conventional wisdom is that pandering to coal voters is politically safer, but these numbers challenge that assumption. It's too bad we'll never know how many votes that decision cost Democrats among young voters.
