getting up in arms about how many times we had to endure this kind of "talking point" tuning,

    under their not-so-watchful reign:

"Terrorism events" never had a political slant when they were in charge, eh?

Ridge: Bush Wanted Terror Threat Raised for Election

by Nick McMaster,  Newser Staff -- Aug 20, 2009

The publisher of Tom Ridge's forthcoming book has dropped a potential bombshell: It says the Bush White House pressured the Homeland Security chief to arbitrarily raise the terror threat alert level on the eve of the 2004 election, ostensibly to boost its chances, reports US News and World Report. [...]

Where were the cries for Impeachment then?

Where was the lazer-like focus on finding the "guy responsible for" 2996 US deaths.

Where was their Benghazi Outrage x 1000 then?

... when George W Bush said "you know, I just don't spend that much time worrying about him ..."

Very conveniently, the 'R's don't seem to remember any of the egregious failings of the devious previous (mis)administration, except to attack 'D's.
It's as though each and every one of them has had some sort of memory-cleansing process.  See the opening of the GW Bush Lie-berry....all smiles and golly-gee remember when....'cept 'we the people' DO remember when.  2000-2008 were disaster years for anyone who wasn't an 'R' insider.  These guys were and are criminals.  They own the media and they certainly aren't gonna keep reminding us of their culpability.

      •  The Double Standard here (6+ / 0-)

        is Outrageous.

Dems need to get up in arms about that:

        One standard for R's

and another entirely different standard for D's

when it comes to "sharing news" with the public, on terrorism events.

'R's....do as we say (and we say a lot....most of it untrue), but pay absolutely NO attention to what we do.
Oh, but pay extreme attention to everything the 'D's say AND do because they are bad, bad, bad, and if you missed something, don't worry we will rehash it until it's musher than pablum and you won't even begin to know what it was about in the first place because we've transformed it into something that bears no resemblance to the original, but trust us, that's what it was about.
Oh, yes, and be very afraid of scary people who are different than you.
          ------------
Unfortunately, the 'R's own the megaphones, and this is the kind of sh*t that they spew, which the gullible, the willfully ignorant and the stupid believe.  The light of day (and a good antiseptic) needs to be be applied to the miasmic underside of the disgusting rock where the 'R' beasts reside.  (figuratively, of course).

to explain this "Double Standard" can be boiled down

          to 2 words:

          Executive Privilege.

          Apparently some Presidents have it;

          and some Presidents don't.

the way-back machine has totally wiped out any thing that happened betwen January 2001 and January 2009. For them there is no "there" there. Only a self devised memory black hole.

      On YouTube.

Keith Olbermann had the Bush administration figured out early on.
