    I knew, though, when I laid my eyes on the cover of an album my parents happened to be listening to at the time: Herb Alpert's "Whipped Cream and Other Delights."

    I couldn't take my eyes off the woman on the album's cover, who, if you've never seen it, was strategically covered in whipped cream.

    I was probably 5 at the time, (this was the early '70s) and I knew, at some level, that that was precisely what I wanted!

    Well, maybe not the whipped-cream part -- not that there's anything wrong with that, either, if that's your thing. (Though as an amateur baker, I would encourage you, if you're making your own whipped cream, to add 2 tbsp. of powdered sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla extract or even a quarter cup of Bailey's Irish Creme if you have it on hand. You're welcome).

    How about I believe in the unlucky ones?
