  •  Hm... (0+ / 0-)

I think Democrats should still mostly talk about specific policies of Walkers that are unpopular instead of mostly the bad economy. Union busting, and denying Medicaid expansion are less popular that do not need explaining. In the recall the Democrats focused mostly on poor job growth since Walker, instead of his policies, and they lost that.

We only think nothing goes without saying.

Really, rolling all of that into one theme is what you want to do. "Walker Isn't Working For You" or something like that.

And replaced it with WEDC, a new agency that has been mired in scandal since its inception. Read the second link. It's all about what WEDC has been doing instead of creating jobs. Having a specific, obvious failed policy that has a direct connection to the job losses is great for messaging purposes.

I get the feeling that voters gave Walker a pass for jobs in the recall because 1) he hadn't been governor that long yet. 2) The GOP was spinning the notion that jobs weren't being created because of all the tension and uncertainty in the state at the time.

"Don't talk about the economy, stupid!"
