    That he would ignore the only person in country who outranks him, in favor of calling an unknown number, which could have been as simple as a mistaken dial.

    But even earlier in his "story", my radar went off at this:

    As I remember September 11, 2012, it was a routine day at our embassy, until we saw the news about Cairo.
    I call BS on his description that it was a routine day at the embassy.

    For many people, September 11, 2012 will NEVER be a  routine day in any part of the world, let alone in a part of the world where terrorist cells are active, and determined to continue Osama in Laden's goals.

    And especially for the State Department, and some other law enforcement organizations, September 11 should rightfully include heightened security and contingency planning.
