      In a worrisome sort of way. Kind of like seeing pictures of Tuscon sinking in the desert. I've lived in my city since late 1984, so it was interesting to pull that up and watch all the spots filling in.

      The challenging part, is getting people to correlate between population/urban growth and environmental disaster.

      For example, several years ago there was an op/ed column by a local lawyer claiming that we weren't going to suffer any consequences from over population or food/water resources: after all, if you did the math, you'd find we could put the entire planetary population in the state of Texas, and just LOOK at all the space left over.
